Welcome to Reception

Blessed Sacrament Catholic Primary School is much more than a place of learning. Instead of the standard lessons we have come to expect in schools, here we see an imaginative, fun approach to learning which always put the whole child first. The environment that is available for the children is second to none, allowing access to weekly bush craft lessons in the forest school area including den building, fire making and cooking. Planting and looking after the Edible Playground allowing children to grow their own snack is also a wonderful feature of the school which is used from Nursery through to year 6, and a brilliant outdoor environment that can’t fail to inspire young minds.

Children will be taught a well-planned curriculum that enables all to reach their full potential, always allowing pupils to lead parts of their learning through meaningful conversations encouraging their imagination to flourish. Blessed Sacrament Catholic Primary School is not afraid to let their pupils take risks in their learning. Allowing children to experiment in which way suits their learning best is integral to their development. This is further developed through the creativity and care the staff take to allow the children to design their learning through their own ideas. Once the ideas have been collated the learning environment is then transformed into a hub for learning by the inventive EYFS team. The children love to see their inspirational ideas come to life in their classrooms.

A great environment coupled with a highly specialised staff team who are approachable and empathetic allows for excellent relationships between parents, children and staff. This in turn leads to a school community where everyone’s opinion matters.
